What are vascular lesions?
Vascular lesions are visible blood-vessel concerns that can include telangiectasias (often called spider veins), hemangiomas, vascular malformations, venous lakes and angiomas. An in-person assessment is important because not every visible mark is suitable for laser treatment.
How Fotona describes the approach
Fotona describes long-pulse Nd:YAG, Q-switched KTP and Alexandrite laser options for selected vascular concerns. These wavelengths are intended to target hemoglobin in blood vessels while allowing the provider to tailor treatment to the lesion and the surrounding skin. The appropriate device and settings are clinical decisions made after assessment.
